Scouting for Food is one of the largest service projects performed by the Cub Scouts/Boy Scouts each year. This is the largest single day food drive of the year for this area and it is the primary source of food for many of the local food banks for the months of November through March. Let's get as many of Pack 497's scouts and parents out as possible to meet Saturday, November 5th at the First United Methodist Church of Port St John at 8:30 am to distribute food bags. Wear comfortable shoes and scouts should be in their Class A uniforms. Bring plenty of water or other drinks to stay hydrated.
See everyone there! |

Scouts should have gotten their Popcorn Order Forms in the mail this week. It's that time of year again. Time to start going door to door in your neighborhood to sell popcorn. Remember to always have a parent with you. James Maxwell is setting up some Show and Sell's at Winn Dixie in Port St. John and Beef O'Brady's on 524. More details to come on the dates and times. Parents, take a form to work and ask your coworkers to support your scouts! Remember, if your scout sells $500 or more you do not have to pay the $100 in dues! |
